KERRANG - June 1992
The White, a remarkable American
Led Zeppelin tribute band led by Robert Plant clone Michael White,
make their European debut at London Town And Country Club June
18.
Tickets for the show are priced at $8.50 and are available from the box office and usual agents.
The Los Angeles-based band have performed their 'Live musical tribute to Led Zeppelin' to over 2.5 million people in the US and Canada in the course of some 2,000 shows.
The band have performed Led Zeppelin's entire catalogue of 74 songs, something the original band never did!
White's uncanny likeness to Plant prompted Atlantic to sign him to a solo deal in the mid '80s. Commenting on The White, Plant said:"It's great by me--you cover the Zeppelin material and I'll look after the Robert Plant songs!"
The White have an import-only album, 'The White', available via the Canadian label Griffin. It features a mix of Zeppelin standards and band originals.
When the album was imported into the US, it was seized by customs officials and held for a week while it was determined that the album was not an illegal bootleg recording of Zeppelin!
