When
I first met Eddie I had just lost all of my equipment in a robbery
(our equipment truck was hijacked in 1979 on the way home from
a gig in Hollywood at Gazzaris) and I had sort of taken a break
from playing. Eddie phoned me up and suggested that we start a
band together. He told me of a promoter in Orange County that
had mentioned to him that if he could put together a group that
performed Led Zeppelin that he would book it. I said, "Ok,
let's try it", and away we went. Everything good started
to happen and we were making money and touring everywhere. Eddie
has a great mind for business and marketing. I really enjoyed
playing with him. He was a fine musician and played keyboards
as well as bass. He was a lot of fun...a party and entourage followed
him evrywhere he went. Unfortunetly for Eddie, our drummer at
the time (Ray Mehlbaum) didn't like playing with him. He wanted
his best friend (Scot Gaines) to take Eddies' place. After a time
Ray wore us down and finally convinced myself and guitarist (Phil
Bolene) that this would be the best thing to do. So I fired Eddie...sorry
'bout that, man...
