THE WHITE: Historical Members

Phil Bolene ('79-'93) (Guitar/Mandolin)

Phil BolenePhil began playing guitar at the age of 7. He soon began playing Led Zeppelin songs and eventually met Michael White in 1979. 'The White' was already a successful band on the LA club circuit. Phil joined the band and almost immediately they began touring the US and Canada performing Led Zeppelin's music.

Phil played in the band until 1986 when he left the group to settle down and get married. After a year of that he told his wife "you gotta do whatcha gotta do" and was soon back on the road cranking out the Jimmy Page riffs with his buddies. He stayed in the band until 1993 when he became a professional pharmacist like his brother in Downey, California.

Fans still remember Phil as the original guitarist with the band. They ask about him often and wonder if he will ever return for a reunion tour.
