THE WHITE: Historical Members

Rocky Romano (drummer 1979)

Michael and Dave KirbyI have known Rocky since Jr. High School. He is still one of my closest friends. He used to blow the trumpet during the raising of the flag and at assemblies in school. Good thing he changed to drums. He sounded worse than the Mayberry band on that horn. But he can sure play the drums.

He was one of the first drummers in The White when we were all original. Then when we changed over to a cover band to make some money he was there as well. Then in 1979, we had all of our gear stolen in a Hollywood truck-jacking incident that crippled the band, we went our separate ways for a while. After I started the tribute thing he rejoined the band in the late 1980's and got the court ordered ankle bracelet removed long enough to do a tour of Arizona. Rocky to my knowledge has never been out of California other than that tour. I think we scarred him for life. He now owns & operates a big rehearsal/recording studio in Long Beach, California (our home town) and I am very proud of him. He also operates www.larockcamp.com.
